Slogan Writing and Poster Making Competition on HIV/AIDS Awareness on 27-04-2026.
Under the able leadership of Principal Dr. Vandna Shukla, a Slogan Writing and Poster Making Competition on the theme of HIV/AIDS Awareness was successfully organized by the Punjabi Department under the guidance and calendar of the NACO Club, in collaboration with the N.S.S. Department and Red Ribbon Club of the college.
The event was conducted under the supervision of Ms. Kashmir Kaur from the Punjabi Department and Ms. Sunita Kaler, Incharge of the NACO Club. The main objective of the competition was to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS among students and to encourage them to express their ideas creatively.
Students from various classes participated enthusiastically and showcased their talent through meaningful slogans and attractive posters. The participants highlighted important aspects such as prevention of HIV/AIDS, importance of awareness, and the need to eliminate stigma associated with the disease.
The programme inspired students to think socially and contribute towards building awareness in society. The entries were judged on the basis of creativity, clarity, and relevance to the theme.
The winners of the competition are as follows:
First Position: Ruchi (B.Com 6th Semester)
Second Position: Navjot Kaur (B.A. 6th Semester)
Third Position: Kajal (B.A. 2nd Semester)
The best performers were awarded prizes and certificates.
The event proved to be informative and engaging, helping students understand the importance of awareness about HIV/AIDS. It was successfully conducted with the cooperation of staff members and active participation of students.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to the Principal, organizing team, N.S.S. Department, Red Ribbon Club, and all participants for their valuable contribution in making the event a success.

Celebration of World Earth Day on 22-04-2026.
The celebration of World Earth Day was organized with great enthusiasm at the college campus to promote awareness about environmental protection and sustainability. The program was conducted under the guidance of the Principal Dr.Vandna Shukla whose encouragement motivated students and staff to actively participate.
The event was jointly organized by the N.S.S. Unit, Eco Club, and Red Ribbon Club of the college. The main objective of the programme was to create awareness among students about the importance of protecting the environment and adopting sustainable practices in daily life.
The program began with an introduction highlighting the significance of World Earth Day and the urgent need to address environmental issues such as pollution, deforestation, and climate change. Students were sensitized about their responsibility towards nature and the role they can play in preserving it.
A pledge ceremony was the highlight of the event. All participants, including faculty members and students, took a solemn pledge to save the environment by reducing plastic use, conserving water and energy, planting more trees, and maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings. The pledge instilled a sense of responsibility and commitment among everyone present.
Students also expressed their views on environmental conservation and emphasized the importance of collective efforts to protect the Earth. The programme concluded with a message encouraging everyone to continue practicing eco-friendly habits in their daily lives.
The World Earth Day celebration was meaningful and impactful, reinforcing the idea that small individual efforts can bring significant positive change for a better and greener future. The entire event was organised under the supervision of Madam Sunita Kaler.

Speech Competition on “War Against Drugs”
A speech competition on the theme “War Against Drugs” was organized at S.D. College for Women, Sultanpur Lodhi under the able leadership of Principal Dr. Vandna Shukla on 17-04-2026 . The event was conducted by the Anti-Drug Club in collaboration with the Hindi Department and N.S.S department as part of the campaign initiated by the Punjab Government.
The main objective of this competition was to create awareness among youth about the harmful effects of drugs. It was emphasized that drug abuse not only affects an individual but also disturbs the peace, economic condition, and moral values of the entire family and society.
Many students participated enthusiastically and expressed their views on the prevention of drug abuse. They highlighted the importance of building a healthy society and contributing towards nation-building. The participants also conveyed the message of adopting healthy eating habits and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It was rightly emphasized that only a healthy youth can build a strong nation.
The speakers also shed light on the growing seriousness of drug abuse as a challenge for the nation and encouraged young people to stay away from drugs, lead a positive life, and work towards achieving their goals, thereby contributing to the creation of a safe, aware, and progressive society.
In the competition, Neha from B.A. Part III secured the first position, Pavittar Pal Kaur from B.A. Part I secured the second position, and the third position was jointly secured by Ranjit Kaur and Malaika from B.A. Part II.
A large number of students attended the event.
