Eco-Friendly Holi (Green Holi) Celebration
S.D. College for Women, Sultanpur Lodhi, under the able leadership of Principal Dr. Vandana Shukla, celebrated Eco-Friendly Holi with great enthusiasm and a strong sense of social responsibility on 03 March 2026. The celebration was organized by the Eco Club in collaboration with the N.S.S. Department and the Red Ribbon Club with the objective of promoting environmental awareness and encouraging sustainable festive practices.
The primary aim of the program was to inspire students to celebrate Holi in a safe and eco-friendly manner by avoiding chemical-based colours and minimizing the use of water. Students were encouraged to use natural colours prepared from flowers and other herbal ingredients such as turmeric and beetroot. The significance of protecting nature and maintaining personal health during festival celebrations was also highlighted.
On this occasion, students joyfully played Holi using eco-friendly colours prepared from flowers, symbolizing their commitment to environmental conservation. Faculty members addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of adopting green practices in daily life. The celebration not only spread the message of harmony with nature but also strengthened the values of responsible citizenship among students.
The event proved to be a meaningful initiative, reflecting the institution’s dedication to environmental protection and sustainable development. Overall, the Eco-Friendly Holi celebration was a grand success in promoting awareness and inspiring positive change.

My Bharat Budget Quest 2026, 2 February to 22 February.![]()
Under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Vandna Shukla, students of S.D. College for Women, Sultanpur Lodhi participated in “My Bharat Budget Quest 2026” to enhance students’ understanding of the Union Budget and its impact on society. The program was jointly organized by the N.S.S. Department, Red Ribbon Club, and Eco Club with the objective of encouraging financial awareness, responsible citizenship, and active participation of youth in nation-building.
The event commenced with a brief introduction highlighting the significance of the Union Budget and its role in the economic development of the country. Students were made aware of the key provisions of Budget 2026, focusing on education, health, women empowerment, environmental sustainability, and youth welfare.
A large number of students actively participated in the program. As part of the activity, students participated in a quiz competition based on the Union Budget to test and enhance their knowledge. The participants also took a pledge to remain informed, responsible, and proactive citizens who contribute positively towards the economic and social progress of the nation. The pledge emphasized transparency, accountability, sustainable practices, and support for government initiatives aimed at national growth.
The programme proved to be highly informative and engaging. It not only enhanced students’ knowledge about budgetary processes but also instilled a sense of responsibility and awareness regarding financial planning and national development.

S.D. College for Women, Sultanpur Lodhi, under the dynamic leadership of Madam Principal Dr. Vandna Shukla organized a rally in the college campus on 24-02-2026 to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drugs under the Punjab Government’s campaign Yudh Nasheyan Virudh (War Against Drugs).
This activity was conducted by the Mathematics Department in collaboration with the Anti-Drug Club. The primary objective of the rally was to sensitize students about the far-reaching and devastating consequences of drug abuse. Students were made aware of how drugs destroy health, waste valuable time, and lead to financial loss, ultimately affecting families and society at large.
Through slogans and active participation, the rally strongly supported the Punjab Government’s mission to eliminate drug abuse from society. The message of “War Against Drugs” was effectively conveyed, encouraging everyone to contribute towards building a drug-free community.
During the event, students solemnly took an pledge that they would neither consume drugs nor allow others to engage in drug abuse. A large number of students enthusiastically participated in the rally, making the event a grand success.

International Mother Language Day Celebration![]()
S.D. College for Women, Sultanpur Lodhi, under the dynamic leadership of Principal Dr. Vandna Shukla , celebrated International Mother Language Day on 21 February 2026. The event was organized by the Punjabi Department with great enthusiasm and active participation of students.
On this occasion, various competitions including poster making, slogan writing, and poetry recitation were organized to highlight the importance of the mother tongue. Students participated wholeheartedly and presented thoughtful ideas through their creative expressions.
In the Poster Making Competition, Jashanpreet Kaur (B.C.A. Part II) secured the first position, Komal (B.A. Part II) secured the second position, and Gurleen Kaur (B.A. Part II) secured the third position.
In the Slogan Writing Competition, Sanjeevan Kaur (B.A. Part III) secured the second position, while Shivani (B.A. Part I) and Malni (B.A. Part I) secured the third positions.
In the Poetry Recitation Competition, Ranjit Kaur (B.A. Part II) secured the first position, while Neha (B.A. Part III) and Payal (B.A. Part III) secured the third positions.
Addressing the students on this occasion, Principal Dr. Vandna Shukla emphasized that a nation progresses in every sphere only through the development of its mother tongue. She encouraged students never to forget their mother language, as it is the foundation of knowledge, identity, and overall growth.
