S.D College for women, Sultanpur Lodhi has completed 50 years of dedicated service to this backward area. During this period, the college has gained immense popularity among the people of ‘ilaga’. Hardworking staff, brilliant results and discipline of the college are marked features of this institution.

With the all out efforts of the managing committee, the dynamic personality President Sh. Rakesh Kumar Dhir , the new building of the college is now completed. The building is situated adjacent to Mandir Singh Bhiwani in a calm and congenial atmosphere away from the din of town life. The building is designed by S.Mohinderjit Singh, the renowned architect of Amritsar.

For the convenience of student coming from the villages, hostel facilities have been provided Free lodging as well as pocket allowance will be available for student belonging to schedule castes. For physical development of the candidates M.P.Ed trained lecturer in Phy.Ed. has been engaged. For the student aspiring for computer ed., BCA, DCA, B.Sc.(ECO) and P.G.D.C.A are being run successfully in college. For providing more avenues to our students the college has also introduced B.Com professional. Library is also fully computerized and is coping with requirements of students community. Poor and deserving students are issued set of books from the text book section of library for whole session and we aim at its enhancement in due course. Apart from which courses of studies which the students have to cope with many subject societies and clubs exist in college to propagate culture and artistic talent among the youth. Competitions and cultural programmes are regularly arranged by these clubs/societies. Trips are arranged and students are taken for Practical education to historical, religious place or to hill station.

One N.S.S unit of college are busy inculcating the spirit of selfless service among students. Day camps as well as special camps are held by this unit. Students learn the dignity of labour, fellow feeling, leadership, nationalism and internationalism during these camps. It is matter of pride that our volunteer Miss Anuradha Narula represented the G.N.D.U. in Republic day parade at New Delhi and brought laurels to college by other co-related youth activities. She was also adjudged best N.S.S. volunteer and won Shaheed Udham Singh state award for youth service. Miss Pooja Dhir, Miss Geetu Gupta, Miss Surbhi Dhir and Miss Priya Gupta brought laurels to college attaining much coveted position in.
